About the Job
You will play a critical role in helping to manage the company’s global financial operations, reporting, and cash flow. If successful, you will support our Head of Finance in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is available to key stakeholders.
Location and Hours
Fully remote but based in the United Kingdom.
Initially part-time three (3) days per week for a total of 22.5 hours per week.
You will be working predominantly in the GMT time zone.
Your Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Conduct variance analysis and provide reports highlighting key trends, financial performance, and areas of improvement.
- Assist with the creation and analysis of financial forecasts and annual budgets in collaboration with senior management.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial data used in reporting and decision-making.
- General Accounting:
- Support the monthly financial close process, including reconciling accounts and ensuring the accuracy of financial records in accordance with UK GAAP.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and manage inter-company transactions.
- Revenue Recognition & Billing:
- Assist in managing revenue recognition processes in compliance with UK accounting standards, ASC 606, and other relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with the billing team to ensure accurate invoicing and timely collection of payments.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process and reconciliation.
- Maintain contract documentation to ensure proper revenue reporting and forecasting.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist with preparing the company’s annual budget and regularly update forecasts based on changing business conditions.
- Support financial analysis for budgeting, variance tracking, and departmental performance.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Assist with managing cash flow, ensuring liquidity to meet operational requirements.
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable teams to maintain healthy working capital and cash flow.
- Audit & Compliance:
- Assist with the preparation of internal and external audit documentation.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT and corporation tax filings.
- Support the tax compliance process and maintain up-to-date records for HMRC reporting.
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of internal audit procedures and financial controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all areas of finance.
- Help identify gaps in existing financial control processes, recommend improvements, and support the implementation of new controls.
- Assist with performing internal audits, evaluating the effectiveness of financial and operational controls, and providing actionable recommendations to management.
- Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Provide support for business initiatives, new product launches, and other strategic financial decisions.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to deliver insights that help guide business performance and decision-making.
- Automation & Process Optimisation:
- Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities within the finance function.
- Support the development of a scalable financial operating structure in line with business needs and priorities
